At my school, we have the elective City Experience where we go into the city and end up doing a task in relation to the excursion. Coronavirus did cancel our second excursion but that did not effect our second task. Our task was to complete a tourist website which included many things like these five locations. Read and enjoy oh and if you would like to visit my tourist website the link is here: https://rit0013.wixsite.com/my-site-1

YARRA RIVER The Yarra River is a 242km, main water way of Victoria. It runs all the way from Mt Baw Baw to port Phillip bay in Melbourne. The Wurundjeri people have always had a deep connection to the river due to the important value that spiritual and community celebrations have to them. The river was originally called the Birrarung. It was known as the Yarra in the 1830s, due to a miscommunication of aboriginals to European settlers. To this day, it is well known to be called the Yarra River but there is a section of the river named Birrarung Marr to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land and to have an inner-city park where people can gather.

THE STATE LIBRARY

The State Library of Victoria was first established in 1854 and was built by Ancher Mortlock & Woolley. This library was one of the first free public libraries and is the oldest public library in Australia. Later changed to being named the Queens Hall, was originally the Queens Reading Room. The library has many rooms such as galleries, reading rooms, study rooms and there is a chess room with historical chess items. No longer remaining, their of bronze lions were placed out the front of the library as a welcome. These lions remained there from the 1860’s until 1937, when they were removed.

The crown towers are a very popular spot to visit when in Melbourne city due to its many attractions. In crown, there are multiple places to eat and chose from. The food court includes many cultural options with different cuisines to explore. You could also spend a night in the crown towers where you can have a beautiful view of the whole city for you to enjoy, these rooms are quite pricey but definitely worth it as they come with many included extras. The crown towers are quite relevant and have many shops around so you can purchase whatever you want to make your visit unforgettable! There is also an 18+ casino if you are interested in that. When visiting crown, there is no way you can be bored as there is so many things you can do inside and around!

The nature of this street art is always changing and that is the reason why it has become so popular. In result of it changing often, no two visits will be the same and you can enjoy it as many times as you want. Hosier lane is all about graffiti artists who want to express themselves and show off their talent in a more public manor. When you visit you are able to get inspiration for your own art so maybe one day your art could be on the wall!
